SummerSlam Shockwave: Dominik Mysterio Betrays Rhea Ripley, Costing Her the Women’s World Title
Tonight, WWE kicked off its SummerSlam premium live event at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The night began with Liv Morgan defending her women’s world championship against the former titleholder, Rhea Ripley. Speculation was high among fans that Dirty Dominik Mysterio might shock everyone by betraying Ripley.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened.
Ripley dominated early on, but the momentum shifted when Morgan sent her into the ring post, causing Ripley to loudly claim her shoulder was “out.” Despite the injury, Ripley fought through the pain, dramatically charging into the announcer’s table to pop her shoulder back into place, earning a big cheer from the crowd.
The match became a back-and-forth battle. At one point, Morgan grabbed a chair and brought it into the ring. As Ripley reached for it, Dominik intervened, telling her she couldn’t use it because it would cost her the title.
Morgan tried to capitalize on the distraction by hitting her finisher, but Ripley kicked out!
This time, Mysterio jumped onto the apron and distracted Ripley, allowing Morgan to hit Oblivion on the chair still in the ring. Mysterio smiled as he turned away, and Morgan secured the three count.
Then, in a shocking move, Mysterio kissed Morgan on the lips and walked out with her on his arm, leaving Ripley in the ring to cry and scream in pain.
