Jennifer Lawrence Redefines Maternity Style at the 2024 Governors Awards

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence is proving once again that pregnancy and high fashion can coexist beautifully. The Hunger Games star stunned at the 15th Governors Awards in Los Angeles on November 17, making her growing baby bump the highlight of the red carpet.

Lawrence graced the event in a custom chocolate-brown gown by Bottega Veneta, featuring elegant gold brooches at the shoulder and waist. The dress, inspired by the designer’s Resort 2025 collection, was paired with a matching gold Knot Clutch valued at $3,736. Completing the look were delicate gold drop earrings and a sleek Fin ring. With her hair styled in a low bun and soft strands framing her face, Lawrence added a touch of glam with a smokey eye and nude lipstick, dazzling photographers and fans alike.

The red carpet appearance comes shortly after Lawrence, 34, announced she’s expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney. The couple, married since 2019, already shares a two-year-old son, Cy. The pregnancy was confirmed on October 20 by Vogue, and Lawrence has been serving iconic maternity looks ever since.

Just days before the Governors Awards, she appeared at the premiere of Bread & Roses, a documentary she co-produced. For the November 14 event, Lawrence wore a vintage black Christian Lacroix gown with off-the-shoulder details and a delicate tulle appliqué. Earlier, at the premiere of Zurawski v. Texas on October 23, she turned heads in a sleek white Dior trench dress with bold black buttons and a belt cinched just above her bump, showcasing her impeccable maternity style.

While Lawrence has embraced maternity fashion with confidence, she’s also been open about the emotional challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. Reflecting on her first pregnancy in a June 2023 interview with Interview Magazine, she shared, “I was so nervous… I kept thinking, ‘How am I going to handle paparazzi taking pictures of my baby?’” However, she eventually found balance, focusing on maintaining calm energy for her child. “If I’m anxious or upset, my baby feels it too,” she explained.

Initially uncertain about expanding their family, Lawrence and Maroney are now thrilled to welcome a second child. According to a source close to the couple, “They adore being parents to Cy and love sharing special moments with friends and family. Having another baby felt like the natural next step.”

Jennifer Lawrence continues to inspire both on and off the red carpet. Whether showcasing her radiant maternity glow or candidly discussing the realities of parenting, she proves that motherhood can be both glamorous and deeply human.
