Sabrina Carpenter & Jenna Ortega Unleash a Frenzy in ‘Taste’ Music Video: Highlights

Sabrina Carpenter & Jenna Ortega Unleash a Frenzy in ‘Taste’ Music Video: Highlights

Sabrina Carpenter and Jenna Ortega have just delivered a horror movie fantasy that’s bound to make waves. On Friday, August 23, the 25-year-old pop star unveiled her music video for “Taste” featuring a dramatic on-screen battle between her and Jenna, 21. The video starts with them as fierce enemies but concludes with them as friends.

The video kicks off with the Girl Meets World alum applying lipstick and grabbing a large knife. She storms into a mansion to exact revenge on her supposed ex-boyfriend for reuniting with his former girlfriend, played by Jenna.

In the chorus, Sabrina sings, “I heard you’re back together and if that’s true / You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissin’ you / If you want forever, I bet you do / Just know you’ll taste me too.”

Channeling a Kill Bill-inspired vibe, Sabrina wields a large dagger, but Jenna takes control with a silver gun and throws her out of a window. Sabrina lands on a fence, injuring herself, but retaliates by stabbing Jenna in the eye with a knife.

Despite their gruesome injuries, the two continue their relentless fight throughout the video. Every time Jenna thinks she’s defeated Sabrina, the “Feather” artist resurfaces, and they resume their clash. At one point, they torment each other with Voodoo dolls—Jenna’s back breaks, and Sabrina catches fire as Jenna’s character laughs menacingly.

One of the standout moments for fans is the kiss shared between Sabrina and Jenna, mirroring Sabrina’s lyric, “You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissin’ you.” As Jenna kisses her boyfriend, Sabrina takes his place. Although Jenna believes she has killed Sabrina once again, the “Espresso” singer reappears, revealing that Jenna accidentally killed the boyfriend instead.

The video ends with Sabrina and Jenna attending the boyfriend’s funeral. Instead of joining the other mourners in sorrow, they exchange smiles and walk away together.

Shortly after the release, Sabrina shared a TikTok featuring behind-the-scenes footage from “Taste.” In the humorous clip, Sabrina is covered in fake blood while Jenna wields a pink chainsaw, both beaming at the camera. Sabrina synced the clip to Talking Heads’ song “Psycho Killer.”
