Tom Cruise has already filmed an epic stunt at the Hollywood sign for the upcoming Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony. In this daring sequence, Tom is seen skydiving down to the iconic sign while carrying the Olympic flag, marking the symbolic handover from Paris to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games.
This Hollywood stunt was actually recorded back in March, but it went completely unnoticed at the time. Though there are photos of Tom at the Hollywood sign, no one caught him in the air, and the connection to the Olympics remained a secret.
For the Closing Ceremony on August 11, Tom will also rappel down from the top of the Stade de France, land on the stadium field, and carry the Olympic flag. The event will then cut to the pre-recorded film, showing Tom’s journey from France to Los Angeles. The film will also feature Tom passing the flag to other Olympians, including a cyclist, skateboarder, and volleyball player, as they make their way around Los Angeles, the next host city for the Summer Games.
Tom Cruise, currently filming “Mission: Impossible 8” in Europe, has been deeply involved in these stunts and even approached the International Olympic Committee with the idea. This isn’t his first Olympic experience—he helped carry the torch through Los Angeles for the 2004 Athens Games. Tom also recently attended the opening ceremony and various events of the Paris Olympics, including gymnastics and swimming competitions.
Tom’s involvement in the Closing Ceremony adds a thrilling Hollywood twist to the transition from Paris to Los Angeles, showcasing his dedication and love for the Olympics.
