Travis Scott Arrested in Paris After Explosive Hotel Clash with Bodyguard, Authorities Report
American rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris early Friday morning following an altercation with his bodyguard at the George V luxury hotel. Police were called to the scene at 5 a.m. local time and detained Scott for “violence against another person,” according to a police spokesperson.
Scott was in Paris to attend the Olympic Games and had just watched the U.S. men’s basketball team defeat Serbia in the semi-finals. The Paris prosecutor’s office later confirmed that Scott was arrested for “violence against a security guard.” The security guard reportedly tried to break up a fight between Scott and his bodyguard, leading to the arrest.
A representative for Scott stated that they are in direct communication with Parisian authorities to resolve the matter swiftly. The rapper, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, had just concluded the European leg of his Circus Maximus tour, performing in major arenas across North America and Europe.
Despite his musical success, including 10 Grammy nominations and a recent album, “Utopia,” Scott has had several legal issues. Earlier this year, he was arrested in Miami for trespassing and disorderly intoxication. He also continues to face civil lawsuits stemming from the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy, where 10 people died.
